Business Analyst


MET Commodities London (METC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of MET Group a multi-commodity
trading company headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, active in European energy trading, as well
as in retail sales to industrial customers in Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Croatia. METC is
focused on the wholesale trading of crude oil and refined oil products, with the main trading floor
in London, but additional commercial, support, and development functions based in Budapest.
METC is looking for an experienced professional to support its in-house developed trading system
in both its daily operations and ongoing development.


Business Analyst

The position is based in Budapest, where the successful candidate will work together with
developers and business users based in both London and Budapest.

  • Support trading system users from Front Office to Back Office
  • Write and maintain business reports and scheduled tasks using C#
  • Clarify and resolve risk reporting problems
  • Analyze and solve system related issues reported by users
  • Communicate and document best practices
  • Improve business efficiency by identifying process problems and recommend solutions
  • Analyze and document new business requirements
  • Adjust system configuration to business needs
  • Understand and assess functional improvements of new software releases

The following attributes are desired:

  • University degree in information technology or economics
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience with front to back energy or finance trading systems
  • Ideally industry knowledge of gas, power or other commodity trading, but knowledge of
    other traded asset classes acceptable
  • Fluent English both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work both in team and individually
  • Prepared to travel to METC London head office occasionally
  • Knowledge of SQL and an object oriented language, ideally C#
